7-Eleven is all about convenience. One of the world’s most popular quick-stop chains, they have always tried to make gassing up your car and grabbing snacks and essentials as quick and easy as possible. As their technology footprint began to grow rapidly, the experience of being a 7-Eleven customer became disjointed and inefficient. Raw Materials set out to solve the experience problems while creating a mobile product that was truly 7-Eleven in brand, convenience, and innovation. Fueled by hard-earned insights, the resulting product unified their disparate mobile technology capabilities in a single app and platform for future feature growth.

A major part of this overhaul was to identify brand moments across the app experience. Like the disconnect between multiple apps, 7-Eleven's brand was in limbo. We translated disperate brand elements, multiple brand guides, ui libraries, and stakeholder desires into a cohesive design system poised for scalability. In addition to the curation of existing elements, I led a nimble team of artists to develop a comprehensive asset library featuring 40+ illustrations and animations across numerous product and feature categories. Role at a glance: Working closely with the 7-Eleven in-house team, I concepted illustration ideas, directed and managed artists, and provided oversight to visual style within the product experience. Shout out to Deutch LA for refreshed wordmarks, color palettes, and typographic style. Shout out to Dentsu for top tier campaign imagery. See the full case study at www.therawmaterials.com.
